Leadership Clubs
K-W Kiwanis sponsors two clubs that promote the development of leadership in young members as well as a program called Kiwanis Voices for young professionals aged 18-26 who want to forge lasting friendships and making a real difference through service in their communities. Our Key Club and Circle K Club are active groups of high school and university respectively who run their own service programs under guidance from approved Kiwanis advisors. The students are members of Kiwanis International and run fundraisers for their club, participate in the Wonders of Winter spectacle in Waterloo, undertake environmental cleanup initiatives, support charitable organizations and generally have a great time stepping up to serve their community while honing their leadership skills.
Key Club members meet Member of Parliament Mike Morrice (Nov. 2023)
The Waterloo Circle K club was re-chartered in March 2024. Former Key Club members and current UW students Cesar Arriojas and Shradhaa Srikanth stepped up to make the proposal for resumption of Circle K activities at the 2024 District Conference in Sarnia.
Shradhaa has since been elected District Governor for Eastern Canada and has launched a newsletter called the Governor’s Gazette which is the best source for information on the activities of Circle K in the Waterloo Region. You can read a copy by clicking the link below.
Cesar has also moved up to serve as District Secretary Treasurer of the Eastern Canada District of Circle K International. Jordan Kaye is the current President of Circle K and we are proud to support such a strong leadership team.
