Donations & Sponsors
K-W Kiwanis runs events and projects in support of a vibrant, inclusive community in the Waterloo Region through generous participation of its members, volunteers, sponsors, and donors. Get involved ! Make an inquiry or arrange a donation with our treasurer at [email protected] . We also work with corporate sponsors to maximize the visibility of charitable donation programs, whether the project is winter clothing, affordable housing, food for the hungry, development of young musicians and artists through the K-W Kiwanis Music Festival, promotion of leadership among our youth, bursaries for higher education, support for local sports teams, or construction of new ice arenas. K-W Kiwanis has over one hundred years of experience in driving community growth, so you can be confident that your time and dollars will have maximum impact. Check out “What We Do” in the main menu.
Consider sponsorship of our next big project. We think big (see below)!
The new Hospital 2025:
In March 2025 we raised over $1 million for a new hospital to advance healthcare in the Waterloo Region with a highly visible gala dinner that was jointly organized by the Waterloo Regional Kiwanis and Rotary clubs. The evening featured the Right Honourable Mr. David Johnson as guest speaker and showcased musical performances by local groups.
K-W Kiwanis Kids Day 2027:
Many thanks to the Sponsors of our annual Kiwanis Kids Day in August, which has been a huge success for several years now: All Clear Environmental, Stacey Muirhead Capital Management, Sorbara Law Firm, Blue Skies Bookkeeping, Costco, and the City of Kitchener. Thank you Mike Farwell for promoting this event in 2024 and 2025 on the Mike Farwell Show, City News 570. This event is also posted to Lite92.ca and Eventbrite. Kids’ Day was so successful our first year that the city of Kitchener just turned over the park to us to organize it again the following year (see below) and in 2025 Forbes GM agreed to provide major sponsorship. For the usual park admission, attendees got free musical entertainment by Erick Traplin, drumming circle, bouncy castle, popcorn, freezies, face painting and backyard games in addition to the usual swimming – just tio give you some idea! Bring your family to the next Kids’ Day in August 2027 and we’ll see that you are well entertained while building the spirit of your community !!
“Coats for Kiwanis” Sale 2026:
Thank you Staples for sponsoring our very first blowout winter coat sale back in 2024 at the Cedar Court affordable housing complex. Our first sale was so successful that we held another on October 4, 2025 on the upstairs mezzanine in the Kitchener Market. Over 200 nearly-new coats (some actually new !) were available for sale for just a few dollars, and all proceeds supported our community programs ! Plan on getting your next quality winter coat before the snow flies in October 4, 2026 at the Mayor’s Market in Waterloo for as little as $5 and help us put a smile on our community.
